Thanks for a great job Brandon!
Over 100 years in the making, the Wylie Lauder House Bed & Breakfast in Moscow, Idaho is open for your convenience and comfort! This little blog post started out as a bit of a trial run for our legitimate website.
Don't let the post date confuse you. We do up-date this page occasionally, but we kind of got stuck in the "pre-website" phase.
And, don't let our this feeble foray into social networking deter you. Instead, stop by and enjoy our fine B&B with its relaxed elegance and exceptional breakfasts. You'll enjoy this beautiful heritage home on the edge of the University of Idaho campus. Bring your bikes and ride the Latah Trail to the east, or the Chipman Trail to the west. We're only a few short blocks away from the Paradise Path which connects to both these beautiful "rail trails".
Just a short 2 block walk to the U of I campus, we're easy to find....but, tucked away in the trees, few people seldom do. We like it that way.....and we think you will too.
Take a look at the pictures of our rooms and you will see that they are very large and designed with care. These are not just receptacles to display doo-dads and frou-frou, but furnished with quality mattresses, crisp sheets, luxurious down comforters and chairs you're not afraid to relax in. While TV's are not standard issue in the rooms, we do have a small unit and DVD player available for your quiet viewing enjoyment. We would request that everyone respect the quiet and privacy of other guests.
We are smoke-free and, though we do have a couple of friendly & curious cats, they are not allowed upstairs in the guest rooms. (They're cute, but please don't take pity on them & indulge their curiosity!) Should you have pets we can give suggestions for boarding here in town, but we keep our rooms pet-free for those guests who may have pet allergies.
For those friends with disabilities, we wish to be responsible and note that our guest rooms are on the 2nd floor of this historic home, so they are not handicap accessible.
RATES (& Policies):
I suppose we should mention some rates & policies here as well. Our normal room rates are $145/night, double occupancy, which includes a really scrumptious breakfast. Special event rates (eg.: UI and WSU football games, Jazzfest, Mom & Dad weekends, move-in week, grads, etc.) are $185/night with a 2 night minimum.
Lauder's Lair and the O'Keefe Room can accommodate extra family guests for an additional fee. For the comfort and safety of all our guests, no unregistered persons allowed in the rooms after 11 pm.
Please note: Rates cannot be guaranteed for reservations made more than 90 days in advance.
RESERVATIONS & DEPOSITS:
Reservations require a deposit of one night's stay per room. We are happy to accept deposits by either credit card or check (assuming adequate advance booking). If by check, we will hold your request open for a maximum of 7 days, pending arrival of your deposit.
Additional Breakfast guests:
Should you wish someone to join you for breakfast, we would be happy to try to accommodate that request (if we can find room at the table), provided that arrangements are made in advance. Extra breakfast guests are $13/person. Ask any of our previous guests -- that's a real deal!
Credit Cards:
We are finally set up to take credit cards, but we've found it's a real hassle over the phone. So, assuming we have adequate lead time, we would welcome you to secure your reservation with your check through a deposit of one night's lodging. We're still working on that one.
Regarding those fantastic breakfasts, Sunday mornings find us in church, so our latest serving time on Sundays will be 8:00 am.
Cancellation Policy:
We are happy to refund your deposit (less a $50 handling fee) with a minimum of 14 days notice of any cancellation from your original reservations. If cancellation is made less than 14 days prior to your date of reservation, we require payment for all booked nights. However, your deposit will be refunded if we are able to re-book your room for the full reservation period. There are no refunds/deductions for early departure.
By the way, "Red Finn Coffee" is a special treat for our guests. These great coffee blends are roasted in-house (well, not quite in the house) by Otto, the resident "Red Finn". Sample some "Idaho Eye-Opener", "Katie's Wedding Espresso", or another of our fine blends with your delicious breakfast, and then take a few bags home to enjoy as you share the experience with your friends and family. Check out the Red Finn Coffee website!
We hope to see you soon!
